I must beseech you Senator McConnell, to please reconsider the thought processes behind this stalemate of agreements in the Senate. As the one of the most powerful countries in the world, the USA can ill afford further disruption to our economy, our stock markets, and the global economy.

Please consider the compromise that our country needs and work with the other political side of the house.

Stop thinking about yourself and what you want and start thinking about all of the people who aren\'t going to be able to pay their bills come Aug 3rd...the disabled and elderly. Get up off your pedestal and do your job! Serve the people of the US first and not yourselves!

Get past the idea that NO is the only appropriate response. This awful story is unfolding around the globe, embarrassing our great country, and putting a lie to the success of the American example of democracy. Please inspire the voters of this country with an example of leadership--NOW. No more waiting.

sixty four percent of americans accept raising revenue as well as cutting spending to help solve the debt crises.

Senator McConnell, the current intransigence of the President, and all party representatives from both sides of the aisle with respect to the U.S. Debt Limit legislation is unconscionable, unacceptable, beyond frustrating and dangerous to the well being of each American.

If the collective you allow the U.S. to lose its Triple A Ratings and default, you should all be fired, one hundred percent.

All representatives appear to be playing politics at our expense!

Shame!

Put a deal together before August 2nd!

FOR GOD\'S SAKE DO SOMETHING. MEET IN THE MIDDLE. I KNOW THAT YOUR SOLE PURPOSE, AS YOU HAVE STATED IS TO MAKE OBAMA A 1 TERM PRESIDENT, BUT WE ELECTED HIM AS WELL AS YOU TO SERVE US AND DO WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY AND NOT JUST PLAY POLITICS 365 DAYS A YEAR. GOOD GOD, DO SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE.

You and the rest of your party are a complete disgrace. You bring shame on Kentucky.

Senator McConnell,
I\'m not a Democrat but I believe the time has come for the Republicans to accept increasing revenue. Yes, Pres Reagan signed a massive tax cut bill, but he also allowed taxes to increase when needed. Yes the US Gov\'t needs to cut spending and NEEDS to increase revenue. The closing of tax loopholes will not have any significant impact on the \'average\' American citizen. Time for compromise!

Cut spending, no tax increases on anyone who already pays taxes, balanced budget amendment!!! Anything other then that I will vote aginst you in a primary and if you when the primary I will stay home in the general. Enough is enough!!

We need a solution that contains BOTH cuts and revenues. The Bush tax cuts did not produce jobs and are in large part responsible for the debt and the ongoing defects. The wealthy should sacrifice along with those less fortunate. The gap between the top 2 percent and the rest of society is widening, the middle class income is flat in real terms. If things keep going as they are the rich will get richer but they will be living in gated communities with armed guards. You will have presided over the demise of the middle class and that will be your legacy.

Senator McConnell, the President has asked us to let you know our position on the
Debt Limit Increase legislation. As one of your voters in Kentucky I sincerely hope you fully support the legislation being offered by Speaker Bohener and the
House of Representatives. The Congress now has the ball and it will be the
Presidents responsibility to sign the legislation. Please continue your strong leadership on this issue.

WE DO NOT WANT THE DEBT CEILING INCREASED. CANADA HAD A DEBT CEILING JUST LIKE OURS,THEY DID NOT INCREASE THEIRS AND NOW THEY ARE BETTER OFF THAN WE ARE. WE HAVE TO STOP INCREASING THE DEBT CEILING,TAXES AND SPENDING. WE MUST STOP,IT IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE FOR US TO KEEP DOING THIS TO OUR CHILDREN,GRAND CHILDREN ETC. IT IS TIME TO STOP THE MADDNESS OF CONGRESS AND THIS PRESIDENT.

you have sold out many Americans with your so called plan by the gang of six. we had hoped that you would hold the line but always afraid that you wouldn\'t. why can not anyone in washington realize that you should be doing the will of the people and not give as you always seem to do. it is politics as usual and it gets more disgusting as time goes on. you people just don\'t get it. power has gone to your head and you just can\'t think clearly. I am so disappointed in McConnell\'s caving to BO. How can he in good conscience do this to the American people! He of all people should know you cannot trust BO, or any Democrat. They hate Republicans, Conservatives, and Christians. Socialism is winning the day because leaders like MM do not stand for making the tough choices for smaller government, and fiscal responsibility. HE has sold America down the river with this incompetent marxist president and his band of socialist thugs. MM will pay dearly for this in Kentucky. Please, do what you know is the right course of action. Stand up and speak out, or lose all credibility in the eyes of our nation.

Dear Senator, please do not be mislead by the simplistic statements offered by the radical fringe of both parties. The American public is genuinely concerned about the debt. My husband and I, in our 60s, are still at work. Our adult children are unemployed and unable to find work. The issues are too important and too complex to leave to those who choose ignorance over knowledge, rhetoric over analysis, and political power over genuine concern for the welfare of this country. I\'m appalled that the Republican party seems to have so throughly lost its way. Where are the moderate thinkers, the statesmen that I remember from years past? I just finished Ron Reagan\'s book about his father, for whom I voted. He would not approve of the current behavior of his fellow Republicans I am certain. And I doubt he would support the more radical rhetoric. Senator please look back on the hard decision we have made in the past. When everyone is willing to sacrifice some interests we have succeeded beyond the dreams of our Founding Fathers.

Please do not give the President the ability to raise the debt limit. Bad idea, he will find a way around Congress for any approval. He has created chaos, demonized you (opponets) and changed the name of anything the public doesn\'t approve of without changing the \"form\". This is right out of the Book \"Rules for Radicals\", which he taught at Havard and he is using these tactics to a \"T\". He is outsmarting, outplaying and out foxing the Republican Party. He is far left of center and he is not going to change! Democrats have the fire in the belly and are passionate in what they believe. The Tea Party has the fire in the belly and are passionate in what they believe and for once I have some hope for the Republican Party. The Tea Party has given it spine. The House should present a budget with increases and dollar for dollar budget cuts (include discretionary spending). Do not include a balance budget amendment at this time. Then get out in front of this, T.V., radio, the net and then go after the Democrats and the President when they turn it down. FIGHT!!!!!!!
Thank you for this comment page-not everyone has one.

Sen McConnell, why are you so intimidated by Obama and the liberal left? When we voted you in in November it was under the assumption that you were going to lead and vote according to the desire of your voters. You are an embarassment and should just retire and take on a nice cushy job with Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, two of the very few who agree with your ridiculous proposal to Obama. At best you are a RINO as worst you\'re a liberal hiding under a republican hat!

Do NOT COMPROMISE ON SPENDING!

2010 MID-TERM ELECTIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEAR AS TO WHAT TAX PAYING CITIXENS WANT.

NO CAVING IN TO LIBERALS!
